PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk is the first dedicated website in the UK to bring together all the different types of funding opportunities open to potential postgraduates, at both taught and research level, all in one place.
PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk is based in North London and is owned and run by Jane Penrose and Mark Plumbley. Mark, a Reader in Electronic Engineering, manages the technical side. Jane deals with the business and marketing side. In November 2003, they launched a successful sister site for the academic community, AcademicBookTrade.co.uk, which now has a thriving community of over 10,000 registered users.
In addition to her experience of setting up websites, Jane has over fifteen years experience of working in academic marketing, moving into higher education in 1998. As Director of Graduate Marketing at King's College London, Jane gained experience in postgraduate organisational and marketing strategies, was active in the setting up of the College's first Graduate School, and led a project team to develop an interdisciplinary Professional Doctorate. She joined the Strategic Consulting Group at Euro RSCG Riley in 2005 and has worked with a range of institutions on a wide variety of projects, including developing market-aware postgraduate strategies, and launching Professional Doctorates. She is a regular speaker on postgraduate market related issues at Neil Stewart Associates and UKCGE events.
As well as PostgraduateStudentships.co.uk, Jane is also setting up Postgraduate Directions with Howard Green and Stuart Powell: a new consultancy partnership launching in January 2007, working with institutions to address strategic issues in postgraduate education and marketing, including providing postgraduate marketing strategies to departments, faculties and institutions.

- Funding providers, including academics, administrators, charities, trusts and commercial organizations that have studentships, scholarships, bursaries, grants and other awards students can compete or apply for to help them undertake postgraduate study.
- Other advertisers who have a dedicated service or product that is genuinely relevant to postgraduates and intending postgraduates.
