Postgraduate Opportunities in Humanities and Social Sciences at the School of Advanced Study, University of London

The School of Advanced Study (SAS), established within the University of London in 1994, is dedicated to supporting researchers and promoting research in the humanities, broadly defined. It receives special funding from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) for its national mission.

SAS unites 10 research institutes to provide a unique and unrivalled scholarly community in which to pursue postgraduate study and research. Our students benefit from the collaborative research environment created by our institutes, which offers them the opportunity to participate in an extensive programme of conferences, seminars and workshops, research training, and global research networks.

Our central-London location in Bloomsbury provides easy access to the world-leading research resources and expertise of local academic institutions, museums and libraries, including Senate House Libraries with one of the most significant collections in the arts, humanities and social sciences in the UK.

Our graduates are awarded a University of London degree.
