The School of Biological Sciences ‘BIO’ contains a dynamic academic community rated as one of the best of its kind in the UK.
Our teaching is of the highest quality (rated ‘Excellent’ in the last Teaching Quality Assessment) and we are consistently ranked in the top five for overall student satisfaction amongst mainstream English universities (out of 65 institutions). We are also recognised internationally for the importance and excellence of our research (Rated 5 at RAE 2001), which covers the full spectrum of the biological sciences.
