Strathclyde Chemistry ranked Number 1 in Scotland!

The 2009 Good University Guide (published in association with the Independent newspaper) has produced a ranking for all UK Chemistry Departments according to a range of criteria that include entry standards, student satisfaction, teaching quality, research reputation and graduate employment prospects.

The survey has revealed that:

  • Our Department is top amongst the Scottish Departments of Chemistry.
  • It is rated fifth in the UK.
  • Our Department achieves the highest undergraduate entry standards in Scotland by a clear margin.
  • Compared to the rest of the UK, only Oxford and Cambridge achieve a higher undergraduate entry standard for chemistry degrees.
  • The employment prospects for our graduates are rated better than those from Oxford and Cambridge.
