The Loughborough Vision

Fast becoming one of the brightest and best in the UK, the Business School is now the largest department at Loughborough University. Highly regarded for the quality of its teaching and student experience, Loughborough attracts people from all over the world with a rich variety of business cultures and experiences. The University has consistently ranked in the top 3 for overall teaching by The Times Good University Guide, and is ranked in The Guardian's Top Ten UK Universities, beating Bath, Bristol, Manchester, Leicester, York, Southampton and Leeds, to name a few.

The Business School is now in the Top 6 in the UK in the 2008 Times Good University Guide, coming 4th for Accounting and Finance and 6th for Business Studies.

Loughborough has also won Best Student Experience at The Times Higher Education Awards 2006 and 2007, also picking up the award for Outstanding Support of Overseas Students in 2007. In the 2005 National Student Survey was ranked 1st in the UK for overall satisfaction for Management Studies, 2nd for Business Studies. The 2006 NSS saw the Business School placed in the top 5 again, and recently, Loughborough placed 6th overall in the UK.

Leading Management Research
Loughborough University Business School’s research facility is an international centre of academic excellence. Our aim is to produce internationally excellent research across the range of our activities that contribute to theory, practice, policy, or a combination of these.

The Business School’s research activities cover all the key disciplines as well as some additional specialisms, which add distinction to our research agenda: Accounting, Finance and Banking; Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour; International Business and Strategy; Management Science and Information Systems; and Marketing and Retail.

World-class Programmes
For undergraduates seeking first-class business and management training, we offer five complementary BSc degree programmes: Accounting and Financial Management; Banking, Finance and Management; International Business; Management Sciences; and Retail Management. For working professionals in Singapore we offer a BSc in Business Studies. Our programmes are intellectually rigorous as well as practical in nature, with the third year spent on placement within the industry of your choice.

For students seeking to gain a higher degree, we offer an AMBA-accredited part-time MBA, five highly popular MSc's in Management and ESRC-recognised Postgraduate Research programmes.

Complementing our study programmes is a variety of highly regarded professional development programmes and short courses. Taught either in-company or at the Business School’s Professional and Management Development Centre, we offer a full range of postgraduate Diplomas, Certificates and Masters.
