Awards
These awards are granted annually.
The public notice is displayed at the beginning of September and application forms sent out at the end of September. To request an applications pack, please use the link on the left.
The Alderman Ferries Committee will sit at the beginning of December and awards are issued before Christmas.
Alderman Ferries Charity
The Charity was established under a trust deed dated 22nd January 1630 and is a registered charity (No. 529821). The objects of the Charity are as follows:
1. The trust was set up to assist apprenticing and if this cannot be usefully applied:
Assist beneficiaries preparing for, entering upon, or engaged in any profession, trade, occupation or service by providing them with outfits, payment of fees, travelling or maintenance expenses, or by such other means for their advancement in life.
2. In awarding to beneficiaries exhibitions tenable at any secondary school, training college for teachers, university or other institution or further education approved by trustees.
3. In otherwise promoting the education of beneficiaries.
Again, due to the original terminology of the Trust Deed, the objects are currently being reviewed by Trustees.
