Welcome

This is the website for the UK's national research and training initiative in the science and engineering of Large-Scale Complex IT Systems (LSCITS).

Phase One of the Initiative formally commenced in October 2007, with a headline funding of over £15m. Primary funding of almost £10m comes from EPSRC.

The Research Programme, runs October 2007-2012 and is funded by a grant of £5.6m from EPSRC. Additional contributions totalling £5m are expected from sources other than EPSRC (e.g., industrial partners) over this period.

The Training Programme starts in April 2009 with the last student graduating 2015. This is funded by a grant of £4.1m from EPSRC with additional contributions of £5.3m from industrial partners.

This funding allows, over the period 2007-2015, more than 250 person-years of effort. The story of why this national initiative was set up is here, and an overview of who we are and what we are doing is here. The academics involved are listed here; the management structure is described here; and links to our various industrial partners, supporters, and sponsors, are to be found here.
