The University of Sheffield will be providing students with a radical alternative to the traditional PhD route with five new training centres in the areas of energy, metallurgy, nuclear energy and advanced engineering for the water sector. The EPSRC Centres for Doctoral Training will provide students with the opportunity to undertake projects and activities together and the knowledge to tackle some of the biggest problems currently facing the UK.
