Optoelectronics Research Centre

The Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) at the University of Southampton is internationally renowned for its research in photonics and laser technology. The ORC has contributed greatly to the remarkable growth of photonics, including the optical telecommunications technology that underpins the internet. On the basis of its publications, the ORC is ranked as one of the top five University groups worldwide. We have postgraduate research opportunities in a variety of different areas including optical fibre devices and systems, optical physics and optical technology.
