We offer taught MAs and MA, MPhil and PhD research degrees. Specialisms include Greek drama, Greek economic, social, institutional and intellectual history, Roman republican history, late Antiquity, Latin epic and prose literature, and ancient art and visual culture. Research training is provided by the Department and the Graduate School. Students are also eligible for an Academic German course. The Department is a lively research environment, with several research centres; a seminar programme; on-line journal Digressus; and international collaborations (e.g. the Copenhagen Polis Project).
