The Faculty of Science consists of five schools: School of Biological Sciences, School of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy, School of Computing Sciences, School of Environmental Sciences and School of Mathematics. Research rankings at the National Assessment in 2001 (RAE 2001) ranged from 4 to 5* putting UEA Science among the top dozen research universities in the UK. The Faculty of Science is part of the Norwich Research Park which includes major BBSRC institutes such as the John Innes Centre for Plant and Microbial Science, the Institute of Food Research, the Sainsbury Laboratory and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
