RIP Bursaries
The Royal Institute of Philosophy
To be eligible for these awards, applicants must:
(1) be enrolled full-time in a UK philosophy department studying for a higher degree in philosophy during the year in which the award is taken up;
(2) have completed at least one year of study towards a higher degree in philosophy at a UK university before the award is taken up;
(3) not be in receipt of any award worth more than £3,000 for the year in which the award is taken up – in view of this restriction, the Institute cannot make its awards until after other awarding bodies announce theirs, usually in late August.
In accordance with its own remit, the Institute seeks applicants whose work, while rigorous, avoids needless technicality and is in the tradition of philosophy as a humane discipline.
