Institution: University of York

The Mathematics Department at York offers three research degrees: the one year MSc in Mathematics, the MPhil and the PhD. We have research groups in Algebra, Differential Geometry (harmonic maps and sections, integrable systems in geometry), Mathematical Biology (virology, ecological systems), Mathematical Finance, Mathematical Physics, Number Theory (Diophantine approximation, geometry of numbers and dynamical systems), Statistics and Stochastic Analysis (stochastic partial differential equations, path integrals).

We have approximately 70 taught masters students and 25 research students currently studying this year and the new addition of the MSc in Chemoinformatics in 2008 will be an exciting opportunity for both staff and students.
