Five ESRC Quota PhD Research Studentships in Management and Business Studies are available at Cardiff Business School, to commence late-September 2010.

Cardiff Business School was ranked 4th out of 90 UK business schools in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, and ‘excellent’ for teaching. Entry requirements:

1st or high upper second Honours degree, or a masters degree with an average mark of min 65% in a relevant subject.

These are ESRC funded awards, and include full UK/EU tuition fees plus an annual stipend matching the Research Council national minimum (£13,290 in 2009/10).

Enhanced stipends £3,000 p.a. above the standard rate may be awarded to students who undertake advanced quantitative training at Masters level and during the PhD.

Additional funding offered includes an ESRC Doctoral Training Allowance of £750 pa in +3 phase of PhD, and a school fieldwork allowance of £750 pa for duration of +3 phase of PhD.

Full awards (fees plus maintenance stipend) are open to UK Nationals, and EU students who can satisfy UK residency requirements. To be eligible for the full award, EU Nationals must have been in the UK for at least 3 years prior to the start of the course for which they are seeking funding, including for the purposes of full-time education. EU Nationals who do not meet the above residency requirement are eligible for a fees-only award, provided that they have been ordinarily resident in the EU for at least 3 years prior to the start of their proposed programme of study.
