School of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences

The School of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences is a multidisciplinary department that is renowned for the quality of its teaching and research. The School was rated ‘5A’ in the Research Assessment Exercise (2001), based on an assessment of all our staff, placing us as the highest rated department of its kind in Wales and among the top three in the UK. In addition, the School was the only sport related subject department in the UK to be judged ’Exemplary’ for teaching in the 2002 UK-wide Teaching Quality Assessment Subject Review. The School has excellent teaching and research facilities including social psychology and physiology labs, an environmental chamber, psychomotor experimental rooms and a dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry lab.
