University of Bolton, Centre for Materials Research and Innovation (CMRI)

CMRI is a multi-disciplinary centre where research and innovative activities in collaboration with industry and other academic institutions takes place. The centre is unique in the country for its strong applied and diagnostic approach to new and novel technologies that embrace change and creativity in vision and application. The centre's established research strength lies in smart materials and systems for application in biomedical and healthcare, sports and fashion, thermal performance, fire retardancy and technical textiles.
