School of Engineering Sciences

The School of Engineering Sciences is amongst the few top grade 5* rated units in the country. Based on a research group structure, major activities include:

Aerodynamics & Flight Mechanics, Astronautics, Bioengineering Sciences, Computational Engineering & Design, Electromechanical Engineering, Energy Technology, Engineering Materials & Surface Engineering, Fluid-Structure Interactions. A large number of PhD opportunities exist within these areas in the School.

The strong research base within the research groups has led to the creation of virtual groups/centres focusing on areas of key expertise, including Bioengineering, Energy, Hydrosciences and Tiny technologies.
