UCL Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis

CASA is a UCL initiative developing emerging computer technologies in several disciplines which deal with geography, space, location, and the built environment. As an interdisciplinary research centre, expertise is drawn from archaeology, architecture, cartography, computer science, environmental science, geography, planning, remote sensing, geomatic engineering, and transport studies. CASA's staff and students work on problems involving GIS, geodemographics, fine scale agent-based urban modelling, and virtual reality/CAD methods in urban design. Funding comes various sources, and currently we have grants from EPSRC (Digital Economy, Transport, Complexity), ESRC (e-social science as a node in NCeSS), and NERC through the Tyndall Centre.
