University of Dundee

The University of Dundee is an established university with a progressive and dynamic outlook. Never complacent, we constantly strive to build on our achievements: investing in excellent facilities, pushing the boundaries of research, and developing new ways of e-learning.
We have over 18,000 students, supported by over 3,000 staff. Sixteen percent of the University’s students are international, coming from over 80 countries worldwide. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding support for international students and, according to the International Student Barometer, 88% are satisfied or very satisfied with the support they receive from Dundee.
We offer an impressive portfolio of over 200 taught postgraduate (Masters) programmes across 16 Schools, including full-time, part-time, online distance learning and continuing professional development (CPD) options. Most of these have September start dates, with many also offering a January start date.
Our students enjoy the benefits of studying at a university consistently placed in the UK top 10 for graduate employment. As well as this, Dundee was shortlisted for the Sunday Times University of the Year 2008 and ranks 1st in Scotland and 8th in the UK for all-round student experience according to the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2010.
We are committed to educating society's professionals for the 21st century - doctors, dentists, lawyers, accountants, engineers, scientists, teachers, nurses, social workers, designers, artists, architects, psychologists, planners and economists. Our graduates enjoy the highest starting salaries in Scotland, and 12th in the UK (Sunday Times University Guide 2010).
Dundee’s dedicated careers service offers support in areas such as career guidance, job-seeking strategies, applications and interviews. The University also has an innovative suite of online programmes designed to increase employability.
Our Careers Service runs the UK's first Internship Graduate Certificate which allows graduates greater access to industry after the end of their studies with a six-month placement with a high-profile employer in Scotland.
The University of Dundee has it all: modern teaching facilities, library, accommodation, sports and social areas all within a compact, self-contained campus. This helps to create a sense of community and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
In order to make your stay in Dundee even more comfortable, the University has recently invested £39 million in new, modern student accommodation. The newest residential complex offers state of the art facilities including access to the campus IT network and en-suite facilities in each bedroom.
New students are guaranteed a place in our competitively priced accommodation and Dundee itself has the lowest living costs of any Scottish city, making Dundee the ideal choice for an affordable degree.
The city of Dundee is very student-orientated, with excellent cultural, social, and shopping facilities. The city enjoys a spectacular scenic location on the estuary of the River Tay on the east coast of Scotland, with the Highlands to the north and St Andrews and Edinburgh to the south. All of Scotland’s most important historic sites are within easy reach and the major cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh are just a 1 hour train journey away.
Our one-stop campus is a major reason why students find studying at Dundee is such an enjoyable experience. It offers the best of both worlds as every aspect of student life is on the main campus from studying to students union to sports facilities and accommodation. Everything you need can be found on campus and the attractions of the city - including a vibrant music scene, galleries, cinemas and theatre - are only a few minutes away.
