Fully funded PhD studentship supported by EPSRC is available. The studentship will cover the University tuition fees for three years. The stipend will be around £12,600 per year (tax free), increasing according to EPSRC national stipend requirements for three years.
Eligibility:
For UK nationals, you are naturally eligible.
For EU nationals, you should have been in the UK for 3 years.
For applicants from non-EU countries, you must have been in the UK for 3 years (outside of education).
You can choose any of the following research projects:
1. Modelling, Simulation and Optimisation of Ethylene manufacturing
2. System Identification with Quantized Signal Processing
3. Study of Overfire Air in Furnace
4. Gamma Based Multiphase Phase Meter
5. Thermal Management of Complex Fluids
Applicants should have a First-Class or Upper Second-Class degree in engineering or related disciplines. A good knowledge in one of the following areas is essential: Chemical Engineering, Process Control, Applied Thermodynamics and Power Generation, Mechanical Engineering
Experiences in using any of the following tools: Matlab/Simulink, Fluent, HYSYS, gPROMS would be a distinctive advantage.
