An EPSRC funded PhD project on developing biological fuel cells and biosensors is available in the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials at Newcastle University. This project involves protein immobilisation and the preparation of mediators.
Person Specification
We are seeking a highly motivated student with a good Honours degree in bioengineering, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a related area The candidate should have good numeric and experimental skills and an interest in electrochemical applications. Due to funding criteria, EPSRC funded studentships are available only to UK/EU applicants.
Value of the Award
UK students are eligible for fees and stipend at the standard EPSRC rate. EU candidates are eligible for fees only.
