Philosophy Department

Bristol’s Philosophy Department has an established reputation for research and a lively postgraduate community with access to a range of philosophical activities such as research seminars with invited speakers, workshops, conferences and reading groups.
The department offers 3 MA programmes: a general MA in Philosophy and specialist MA programmes in Philosophy & History of Science and Philosophy & Law
The main research interests of the department are: philosophy of mind and language, ethics, political philosophy, philosophy and history of science, mathematics, logic, history of philosophy, ancient philosophy, epistemology, metaphysics and aesthetics.
