The new MSc is designed to provide essential research training for careers in economics and development, both for academic positions and in government and non-government organisations at the international and national level.
It provides a vibrant, state of the art, intellectually challenging and exciting programme in which students can acquire and apply a range of theoretical and applied techniques crucial to their interests and career ambitions in development economics.
The one year full time programme provides a sound training in best practice methods of theory and applications in development economics with special emphasis on emerging market economies, combined with the opportunity to study optional areas in depth. The dissertation component offers training in the transition to research.

A number of scholarships are available for our new MSc course. Anyone may apply for a scholarship of £3,240 towards their fees and living expenses. These scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis and the selection takes into account academic ability and financial need.
