The Department has a prominent international reputation in public economics. This course offers students a thorough foundation in microeconomic aspects of the public sector. It is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in government, research agencies, public policy, universities and consultancy firms.

We offer Overseas MSc Scholarships for the MSc in Public Economics. Any overseas applicants can apply for a scholarship of £3,000 towards their fees and living expenses. Minimum entry criterion is the equivalent of an upper second class degree primarily in economics from a UK university.
Language requirements:
The department's normal English language requirements, specified here, are (a) an IELTS result of 6.5 or (b) a TOEFL result of 600 if paper-based, 250 if CBT and 100 if iBT, or (c) A, B, and C Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English.
