School of Historical Studies

We offer taught and research programmes in archaeology, classics, history and the history of medicine. We have over 100 full- and part-time students. Much of the stimulus for academic research comes from informal discussions with students and staff. The School provides events such as:
- social occasions
- annual Postgraduate Conference
- Research Seminars featuring leading academics
- Seminar meetings run by Classics postgraduates
- the Pybus seminar series on the history of medicine
- Postgraduate Forum lunchtime seminars

Students have access to some excellent facilities in the University and School, most within five minutes of our postgraduate suite which provides tailored support for our students.
