Driven by an ambitious strategic research plan and building upon its 5 and 4 rated grades in RAE 2001, through targeted investment, the University is to award 55 full-time studentships in areas where further improved research performance is projected: The PhD Studentship Scheme is open to UK/EU candidates with a first degree in a relevant discipline. It will offer the following benefits: • Exemption from the payment of annual fees (UK/EU rate) • £6000 annual stipend International candidates can apply for entry to any of the 55 research projects on a full-fee paying basis. Studentships are available in the following Schools: 15 projects in Business School 4 projects in School of Health, Nursing and Midwifery 9 projects in School of Computing 18 projects in School of Engineering and Science 2 projects in School of Media, Language and Music 6 projects in School of Social Sciences 2 projects in School of Education The University also has a number of part-time studentships available.
