The School of Law enjoys a long-standing reputation as one of the most distinguished centres of legal research in the UK. We have 70 highly regarded academics working across diverse areas of legal inquiry and the School hosts a number of specialist legal research centres. We offer the following research programmes, either full-time or part-time: Master of Philosophy (MPhil),Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Doctoral Programme in Bioethics and Medical Jurisprudence (PhD).
In the 2001 RAE the School was once again awarded a 5 rating, confirming it as one of the UK's top law schools for the excellence in research.
