'I looked through the Financial Maths programme structure and the description of the courses it had to offer, and realised it was the perfect choice for me.
I took an internship last year with an insurance company. It has helped me a lot. As I became more familiar with how businesses are actually run, I learned to deal with deadlines and work within a group.
After completing my programme, I hope to get a clear idea of how financial markets work and how they are constructed with the view to take further study and become an actuary.
During the year, once a week, I attended seminars organised by the College, on areas related to the courses I was undertaking, but at a higher level. The lecturers were from different backgrounds and universities which made it more interesting as most of the things they talked about were new ideas that could be introduced to finance.'
