Description of the project
The aim of this study is to understand how young people use alcohol and to
determine if, and in what way, price and other regulatory measures can be
used as targeted interventions to reduce health risks in young binge drinkers. The project will use qualitative methods (in-depth interviews) to explore personal, social and economic factors that influence young people’s drinking behaviour across a range of social strata; including the links between drinking and other lifestyle behaviour such as smoking and sexual activity.
Person specification
Applicants should hold a first class or upper-second-class degree in a relevant behavioural, social science or clinical discipline. A Master’s qualification in a relevant discipline would be an advantage.
