School of Sociology and Social Policy

The School is a diverse research-led School with expertise in sociology, cultural studies, social and public policy and social work. We are committed to world-class research that makes a meaningful contribution to knowledge in the social sciences and, where possible, has an impact by addressing questions of social justice and improving the quality of people’s lives.

We are committed to linking our teaching to our high quality research and offer a range of taught MA programmes, including an ESRC recognised MA in Research Methods, and research degrees at MPhil and PhD level.
