Institute of Work Psychology

The Institute of Work Psychology (IWP) is home to one of the largest groups of occupational psychology academics in Europe and has a longstanding reputation for world-class research expertise. Established by the University of Sheffield in 1994 and building on the foundations laid by the former Social and Applied Psychology Unit (1968-1996), the Institute has conducted applied research in hundreds of public and private sector organisations and regularly provides advice to practitioners, professional bodies and policymakers. The Institute currently has 20 academic staff, 6 support staff, and 10 PhD students.
