The School is a centre of excellence for allied health professions education and research, established in 1998 through the amalgamation of occupational therapy, physiotherapy and podiatry (which celebrates 25 years in the university this year). Our strengths in professional education, and the applied social and natural sciences provide a framework for a genuinely multi-disciplinary approach to health and social care. With over 70 staff (50 of these academic) and a vibrant research culture the school is a major centre for allied health professions education in the South of England and the UK.
