Postgraduate Study at UCF

University College Falmouth is a specialist Art, Design, Media and Performance College located over three campuses in Devon and Cornwall. UCF has a reputation locally, nationally and internationally as a place to find great talent, innovation and the industry stars of the future.

Our Campuses
Minutes from the beach, our Woodlane Campus houses light and airy studio spaces, graphic design suites equipped with a range of specialist software and even an outdoor sculpture canopy.

On our Tremough Campus, the Photography Centre provides fully-equipped darkrooms for traditional black and white film, colour-managed digital suites complete with professional quality film scanners and the very latest software for digital work.

In the Media Centre, you'll experience first-hand the technology, disciplines and atmosphere you’ll find when you take up a job in the media. There are fully-equipped TV, recording and radio studios, a newsroom with professional scriptwriting and editing software, a large stock of cameras and recording equipment and a 106-seat cinema.

The open-plan Design Centre encourages staff and students to share ideas and techniques. Workshops have some of the most modern equipment in the country, including computer-aided design and prototyping machinery and facilities for working in ceramic, glass, wood, metal and other materials.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside and bordered by the River Dart, which flows down from nearby Dartmoor, our Dartington Campus is situated on the Dartington Hall Estate.

Dartington Hall is a private estate of approximately 850 acres near Totnes in South Devon. Facilities include the Performance Technology Centre (PTC), comprising video editing and sound recording suites equipped with all the latest software and the Digital Media Centre (DMC), set up for graphical, multimedia and web work.

The Dartington Campus has an international reputation for experimental arts practices and provides a setting for artists from many parts of the world to visit to contribute to the community of learning and practice.

Postgraduate Study at UCF
The postgraduate courses at Falmouth emphasise the value of collaboration, but also allow for unique opportunities for individual development.

Kirsty Hemming (MA Broadcast Journalism) felt that the MA prepared her for her first position as an award-winning investigative journalist at ITV Westcountry: “Falmouth was a fantastic start,” says Kirsty. “It’s hard work but it prepares you for what it will be like – I didn’t have any nasty surprises when I started my first proper job.”

Moon Ribas (MA Choreography) found the freedom of expression encouraged by the course particularly important. "Everyone is encouraged to find their own way of working; their own voice and identity," she says. "It's not about everyone being the same and learning the same techniques, but more about expression. It's important to practise your technique, and learn about the context and the theories, but the College also encourages you to experiment."

Postgraduate study is your chance to specialise. Falmouth provides you with the perfect learning environment to do this. Combining the vocational with the non-vocational; you develop personal research interests, while learning practical skills and gaining insight into career paths. At Falmouth we aim to support these diverse aspirations. You can access excellent facilities, receive focused supervision from experts and you will have the chance to be enriched by a truly diverse student community.
