Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering
University of Strathclyde
Modular MOSFET and IGBT Pulsed-Power Systems
Applications are invited from UK students with a first class or upper second-class degree in electronics and electrical engineering, physics, or related subject to undertake a PhD studentship. The University of Strathclyde has an excellent track record in power electronics research and the student will be part of large team of world-class researchers.
The project studentship is funded by AWE and offers an enhanced grant of up to £20k per annum, along with a generous equipment, consumables and an international travel budget. The project focus is developing modular power electronic systems to generate high-power, short-duration pulses of energy. Power electronics is a key enabling technology offering a wide variety of future employment opportunities in research and industry. Only UK passport holders are eligible for this studentship due to funding restrictions.
