Kenneth Kirkwood Fund

Africa Education Trust
This fund was established in 1998 in honour of the memory of Kenneth Kirkwood, the first Professor of Race Relations and Co-ordinator of African Studies at St. Antony’s College, Oxford. Kenneth Kirkwood was a founding member of the Africa Educational Trust. He was Chairman between 1987-1994 and remained a Trustee until his death in 1997.
The fund provides small grants for maintenance, fees or for emergency payments for students from Africa, particularly Southern Africa. Both undergraduate and post graduate students are eligible to apply to the Kenneth Kirkwood Fund.
Priority will be given towards those students studying subjects which are relevant to the development of their home countries.
It is expected that first consideration will be given to students studying at St. Antony’s College, Oxford. However, students from other colleges and universities will also be eligible for awards.
