Worshipful Company of Weavers
This is the Companys top bursary and it commemorates Stuart Hollander CBE, who played a significant role in the textile industry and was a member of the Weavers Company until his death in 1995.
Winners of the Companys other scholarships are considered for this award and may be invited to attend for an interview.
The Stuart Hollander Scholarship is made up of two elements:
1. a cash award of £1,000 to be used as the winner chooses, and
2. a short course of study in a different but related discipline, eg a design student may take a computer or management course at a technology college or a technology student may spend time at a design college. Alternatively, it may be possible to arrange an industrial or design placement in the UK or abroad. Any programme would be timed to avoid any disruption to the winners study or other commitments.
