World Trade Center Disaster Fund/British Council
The Fund seeks to award scholarships to the children or dependents of victims of the 9/11 attacks on the USA, or other subsequent terrorist tragedy, for study at Universities in the UK.
The scholarships cover funding for full-time study leading to a degree at Masters level in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
They also give funding for accredited study periods of up to one years length at recognised higher education institutions for students whose college or university has an exchange agreement with a partner institution in the UK.
To be elligible, applicants must:have lost a parent or guardian as a result of the 9/11 or other terrorist attacks, or have a parent or guardian thereby permanently injured, and be able to demonstrate need, hardship or distress.
There are no restrictions on nationality or on residence in other countries. There are no age restrictions for applicants for 9/11 scholarships, and there are no restrictions on mature students applying.
Applicants must apply independently to the institutions at which they wish to study: conditional award of a scholarship does not guarantee acceptance on a course.
