PostgraduateStudentships PhD Funding Fair 2013
10th December 2013, Central London (within Travel Zone 1)
10.30am to 4.30pm
We are pleased to announce the launch of the new PostgraduateStudentships PhD Funding Fair, which will bring together over 20 of the UK's top quality Universities, all with specific PhD funding to offer, and looking for the best students. See the list of participating Universities.
Applying to Attend
In order to attend the Fair, you would need to have applied, been accepted, and received your personal invitation to attend. It is not possible to attend the Fair without an invitation.
PLEASE NOTE THAT Applications to attend this year's Fair are now CLOSED.
If you have applied in the last few days and fully submitted your application, we will be in touch with you shortly. Personal invitations to those who have applied and been accepted will be sent out in the next few days.
As this is a specialist Fair, and we have limited spaces in both the morning and afternoon Sessions, you will need to have applied, been accepted, and have received a personal invitation, in order to attend. If you have not been accepted to attend the Fair, we are sorry but we are not able to offer you a place at this year's Fair.
We will not have extra places on the day of the Fair or be able to admit students who arrive without their personal invitation to attend.
Specialist Subject Sessions
The Fair is divided into two subject Sessions -
The Morning Session will cover PhD funding in the Arts and Humanities, Law, Management and Social Sciences.
The Afternoon Session will cover PhD funding across the range of Science and Engineering subjects.
Participating Universities in each Session will have specialist staff available to talk to you about funding that is already available, and funding to be announced, and how to apply for a PhD.
In each Session, students who have been invited to attend the Fair will be able to attend talks by participating Universities, about studying a PhD in some of the subject areas covered by the Session. A provisional Talks Programme is available on the Talks page.
PhD Student Peer to Peer Advice Room
We're delighted to announce that this Room at the Fair will be sponsored by The Student Room. This is another unique opportunity at our specialist Fair: students will be able to chat in person to current PhD students who will be on hand to talk to you about their experience of doing a PhD. Find out more here.
We are also pleased to say that, as part of our new partnership with NUS as an NUS Postgraduate Champion, Adam Wright from NUS, himself a former PhD student and researcher, will be present in the Peer to Peer Advice Room to chat to students about the recent NUS Postgraduates who Teach report which is very important for postgraduate students, and about NUS campaigns for postgraduates. Find out more here.
