Sophie Van Neste, MSc Exercise Rehabilitation, 2015-2016
School of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences
I come from Jersey in the Channel Islands so coming to Bangor, a smaller city, rather than a big city was definitely a good choice for me. I also came here because I love the outdoors and there is a lot of scope here for getting involved in outdoor sports. I graduated in 2015 in Sports Science so this is my fourth year here at Bangor University and I’m obviously loving it!
I chose this University because I love the outdoors and Bangor is surrounded by a National Park with activities from water-sports to climbing and paddling at world class facilities. Also, the University is small enough that you have personal contact with the lecturers, knowing them on a first name basis so you have an excellent relationship with them throughout your time here. Sport Science at Bangor also has world-class leading research and researchers so knowing you are being taught by the best is a great thing.
I love that the degree course gives you the ability to pick modules that relate to your future career and helps you in relation to work experience and qualifications etc. The mixture of assessments from assignments and exams to presentations and vivas is great too.
The three things I love about life at Bangor University are that it is a small community, the surrounding scenery and the ease of travel to all major cities.
Overall, Bangor is a great place to learn and live.
