“The tutors are first-class researchers.” Research and Practice in Higher Education MA
Kingston University Masters student Katie Buckland reflects on her course highlights
Kingston University’s Centre for Higher Education Research and Practice offers an MA in Research and Practice in Higher Education; an online course primarily designed for those currently working in higher education or who have experience of working in the sector.
Kingston University postgraduate student Katie Buckland talked to us about her experiences as a student of this MA.
“I’m attending the course as a part-time student and my experience has been very positive. I really like that the programme modules are well-designed and organised in a progressive way that provides a lot of guidance for us.
“Although it’s an online, distance-learning course, I feel very much part of a physical classroom with classmates, since we had the opportunity to meet during the first residential week and interact with each other online every week. The workload ensures momentum in our learning so I feel I’m progressing well.
“Our tutors are first-class researchers. We have an expert in each topic we cover, which makes the learning even more interesting. They’re very accommodating too – we are always consulted on important decisions regarding the times we meet online and other practicalities in the delivery of the course.
“As I approach my dissertation project, which I’m sure will be challenging, I also know that I am in good hands and have a huge amount of support from my tutors and supervisor.”
