A leading choice for postgraduate study
We offer over 300 taught postgraduate courses and a wide range of research opportunities spanning the arts, engineering, medicine, science and social sciences. Research degrees are supervised by world-class academics and taught programmes are informed by the latest research findings. World-changing research
Wide-reaching, multi-disciplinary research is delivered by all of our faculties while research priority areas address global issues in key thematic areas or support the delivery of research excellence. The latest REF 2014 found 97% of Nottingham's research to be of an 'international standard' and 80% 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent’, and our academics have been awarded two Nobel Prizes since 2003.

Training and support for postgraduates
Our invaluable Graduate School is a dedicated facility for postgraduates. It runs the impressive Researcher Development Programme, a comprehensive calendar of events and workshops to help research students develop essential career skills. It also provides work and meeting spaces, organises events for all postgraduates and provides advice and guidance on funding opportunities.

Career opportunities
The University of Nottingham was named University of the Year for Graduate Employment*and can offer you a head-start when it comes to your career. We have had a non-continuation rate of just 3.7%, and in 2016, 94.4% of our graduates proceeded to employment and further study within six months. Additionally, the Institute of Fiscal Studies (2016) reported that Nottingham graduates are among the very highest earners – 5th/166 for female graduates and 8th/166 for male graduates 10 years after graduation. Our careers and Employability Service also offers ongoing support for planning your career throughout your time at university and beyond.
