About the UCL Master of Laws (LLM)

The 10-month UCL Master of Laws (LLM) is one of the most diverse and academically rigorous postgraduate law degrees in the world. Students can tailor their studies through a wide selection of modules across areas such as International Law, Corporate Law, Human Rights, Environmental Law and Public Law, or pursue one of several specialist degrees aligned to their interests.

The programme combines intellectually challenging taught modules led by internationally recognised academics, practising lawyers and barristers with opportunities to develop practical legal skills through extracurricular activities such as mooting and pro bono work via the award-winning Centre for Access to Justice.

Students also undertake independent research through a Research Essay, developing advanced analytical, research and writing skills valued across academic and professional careers.

The 10-month study period allows you to fast-track your career, giving you a head start in industry and a competitive edge in the job market. For those already in practice, or with other responsibilities, there is the option to study part-time over two years (10 month each), or a modular/flexible option in which students will have up to five years (10 months each) to complete their degree.
