Masters Degree Description

Robotics, advanced manufacturing, the internet-of-things, driverless vehicles and medical technologies – we aim to find solutions to real-world challenges.

This course is for you if you have a physics or engineering background and wish to work in electronics-based industries.

You’ll study in a dedicated MSc laboratory with industry-standard hardware and software. On this MSc, you’ll explore:

advanced analogue and digital circuit design
power electronics and electrical systems
control of electro-mechanical systems
digital signal processing
embedded systems
FPGA reconfigurable systems on chips
machine vision technologies.
Learning from experts in their fields, you’ll gain the electronic and electrical engineering knowledge necessary for a successful career. There’s a major skills shortage in these areas worldwide, making successful graduates employable.

Entry Requirements

You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above. Your qualification should be in electrical and/or electronic engineering. Other relevant degrees including computer engineering and numerate subjects, such as physics or mathematics, will be considered on an individual basis. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
