Course Description

The course is especially designed for graduates of numerate subjects other than computer science. It is mostly taught separately from the other courses. It intensively covers a broad range of the key principles and techniques of computer science. There is an emphasis on software development, in particular when applied to solving problems in other disciplines.

Entry Requirements

For admission to the MSc Computer Science (Online):

  • you should have a recent good honours degree in a non-computer science subject combined with knowledge or experience of computing that goes beyond that of an end-user
  • applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate sufficient competence in English to benefit from the Programme. This is normally demonstrated by recognised awards equivalent to an overall IELTS score of 6.0 candidates who do not satisfy these requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
