If you are an aspiring teacher, the Education (Secondary) PGDE programme will provide you with the knowledge, skills and values you need to become the committed professional necessary for today’s schools.

Secondary teaching qualifications include the following subjects:

  • Biology
  • Business education
  • Chemistry
  • Computing
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Modern languages
  • Physics
  • Religious education

The programme consists of 18 weeks of study in the University and 18 weeks of school experience in our partner schools.

I had offers from other universities but chose Glasgow because I wanted an internationally recognised qualification which would position me favourably in a competitive international job market. Graduating in June, I was offered my first job in Brisbane, Australia in July. The excellent preparation I had at Glasgow has allowed me to shine in my field.” – Eileen Baillie, Education (Secondary) PGDE graduate from the UK
