ESRC Studentship: Improving Project Delivery

This research project is a collaboration between academic researchers and the government department responsible for the oversight and effective delivery of projects – the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA). If successful, the awarded applicant will have the opportunity to explore effective delivery of major government projects and how it can be improved with one of our leading academic colleagues, Professor Paolo Quattrone

Value: £14,777 stipend + Home/EU fees for 3 years

ESPRC Studentship: Data Visualisation Design, Ambiguity, and Decision Making in Megaprojects

Professor Paolo Quattrone has successfully been allocated a studentship in collaboration with Costain, a major construction firm in the UK, to explore a neglected but important area of research: how material and social visual cultures inform the design, features, and uses of data visualisations, and how such cultures differ across different kinds of megaprojects, firms, and industries. It will assess whether visualisations act as effective governance and communication mechanisms and hinder or favour judgement in megaprojects.

Value: £22,159 stipend + Home/EU fees for 4 years
