The University of Hertfordshire offer a range of tuition fee discounts and non-repayable scholarships to support our postgraduate students. You can get funding for postgraduate study through studentships, loans, bursaries and grants – you might also get help from your employer.

Scholarships and bursaries

Education

Helen Burchell Scholarship: A scholarship of £750 is available each year to a student on the doctoral or masters’ programmes in the School of Education.

Physics, Engineering and Computer Science

Dannenberg Scholarship (MEng): The School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science will award prizes annually up to the value of £1,000 for students on the MEng programme.

Transport Planning

Rees Jeffreys Road Fund Bursaries Scheme 2021/22: The value of the award is £10,000 over the full period of the award. For full time students, the first £9,000 will be paid direct to the university at the beginning of the second term of the course to pay for fees with any remaining monies being passed on as a maintenance grant. In the case of part time students, this amount will be paid pro-rata over the period of study (once a year). The balance of £1,000 will be paid on successful graduation from the course, and submission of the candidate’s report.

Herts graduate/alumni discount

Herts graduate/alumni tuition fee discount:

  • value: a 20% tuition fee reduction
  • awarded to University of Hertfordshire undergraduate students who return to study for postgraduate taught course and research degrees
  • no application required – the scholarship will be automatically awarded if you are eligible and your tuition fee will be reduced accordingly.
