The MSc in Human Resource Management and Training offers a comprehensive study of HR management and training processes and their impact on organisational performance and culture. This distance learning course provides the necessary knowledge and skills to excel as an HR professional.

The course covers topics such as recruitment, labour relations management, workplace learning, employee development, organisational culture, and external factors influencing HR decision-making. Additionally, the course develops practical skills such as presentation, problem-solving, teamwork, self-appraisal and independent learning.

Course structure:

This degree is suitable for recent graduates and experienced professionals seeking career advancement. It offers two study options: a standard two-and-a-half-year track or an accelerated two-year track. In the standard track, the modules are studied in sequence, followed by the dissertation. In the accelerated track, module one is completed first, followed by simultaneous study of modules two and three, module four, and finally the dissertation.

Distance learning allows flexibility to accommodate existing commitments while enhancing career prospects. You will receive support from module tutors and personal tutors throughout the course. Online study materials are accessible through the virtual learning environment, Blackboard, and live seminars are scheduled to accommodate different time zones. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to attend the Leicester Masterclass, a week-long residential held on campus every August.

Assessment is based on coursework assignments for each module, culminating in a 10,000-word dissertation.
