In the first instance, applicants are invited to contact the relevant Head of Section to discuss the nature of the research project and to ask any questions.
Eligibility for a full MRC studentship (including a monthly stipend and university fees) is currently based on whether the applicant or their parents have paid UK tax contributions. For example, they must either be a UK national or have been granted UK citizenship. Alternatively, citizens of the European Economic Area are eligible for an MRC studentship if working in the UK in a relevant field at the time of application.
MRC stipends cannot be offered to nationals of the European Community who are currently studying or working in their own country.
