MA Creative Arts Courses

Our creative arts courses will allow you to refine your artistic practice from concept to practice.  Whether you have an interested in creative direction or artistic design, you can explore all forms of creative industries, from visual brand identity to artistic make-up designs.

Industry links

Thanks to the course team’s close links with industry, you’ll benefit from a range of guest lectures from across the contemporary design landscape, with representatives from fashion, film, media, beauty and other creative industries sharing their experiences. Recent guest lectures have included speakers from MAC, Illamasqua, and the National Theatre, to name a few.

Work experience

Our courses aim to provide you with work experience and exposure to industry, with various opportunities across these courses for industry collaborations and work placements, live client briefs from industry partners IBM and fashion/culture magazines or freelancing through our in-house agency – Solent Creatives.  We recommend you take advantage of these work-based learning options and networking opportunities as they arise.

Facilities

Our facilities include specialist studios with a wide range of equipment for you to practice, experiment and produce your creations in a variety of mediums. Available facilities include photography studios, film studios, make-up studios, hair and prosthetics studio, camera hire, location lighting kits, ‘infinity cove’ studios, and Mac suites with the latest industry software, as well as a traditional letterpress and screen-printing facilities. And as Solent is an Adobe Creative Campus, all students have free access to Adobe Creative Cloud, which includes the full suite of Adobe professional software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, Premier Pro, and more.

Funding options

We have several academic scholarships available which are rewarded based on your entry grades. We also offer a sport scholarship to those competing at national or international level in their sport.
